Antique ravier Limoges Bernardaud Saint-Saëns
This is a ravishing dish from the "SAINT-SAENS" series by Bernardaud, one of France's leading porcelain manufacturers.
The elegant design evokes the golden age of Limoges porcelain from the late 19th to early 20th centuries.
As the series name, bearing the name of a great French composer, suggests, it possesses a fluid beauty that seems to play music.
The rim features a delicate basketweave relief, adding rich shading and depth to the white porcelain.
Adorning it are intertwined ivy motifs in a blue gradient. The way the slender tendrils stretch enhances the transparency of the white porcelain, giving it a clean and sophisticated impression. The undulating scalloped edge is also a refined finish typical of Bernardaud.
■ Recommended Use
The clean combination of white and blue is perfect for the breakfast table.
Serve a croissant or arrange fresh fruit. Also, with its beautiful interwoven relief, simply displaying it in a cabinet without anything on it will bring an elegant French touch to your space.
Condition: In extremely good condition for an antique over 100 years old.
No cracks, chips, or crazing are visible, making it perfectly usable.
The coloring of the painting is vibrant, and Bernardaud's characteristic smooth luster remains firm.
Minor discoloration due to age may be present on the back, but please enjoy this as part of the antique charm.
