Vintage Rectangular Platter, Digoin & Sarreguemines Agreste
This is a vintage rectangular platter from the Agreste series by Digoin & Sarreguemines.
In French, "Agreste" means rustic, simple, or humble.
The bouquet painted on the plate, featuring poppies, foxgloves, thistles, and daisies, consists entirely of plants commonly seen in the French countryside.
The unpretentious, rustic beauty adorns the plate with its floral rim.
The red line around the edge tightens the space just right, enhancing its splendor.
Perhaps one reason for its popularity is the creator's playfulness, evident in the fact that the flowers decorating the rim vary from plate to plate.
Condition: There are some cutlery marks and a small chip on the back edge, but this does not affect the front. It is in relatively good condition.
Size: 33cm x 26cm x 3.5cm (height)
