This is a vintage deep plate from the Salins pottery, Messidor series.

Manufactured between 1950 and 1960, the series is captivating with its gently hand-painted texture.
The rim is rhythmic and soft, like flower petals. A deep red border enhances its lines, creating an appropriate sense of tension.
Ears of wheat and flowers are vividly depicted, conveying the joy of harvest.
The deep, purplish-red color is subdued and mature. Thus, despite the large pattern, it is not overly assertive and blends beautifully.
It's a wonderful plate you'll want to display like a painting.

"Messidor" is a term from the French Republican Calendar meaning "Harvest Month," which corresponds to mid-June to mid-July in the Gregorian calendar.

The stamp on the back reads E.C., which is believed to be an abbreviation for Edouard Charbonnier.
Edouard Charbonnier was the son of Robert Charbonnier of Longchamp pottery and served as president of Salins pottery from 1912 to 1968.
