Vintage deep plate Saran Messidor A
This is a vintage deep plate from Salins' Messidor series.
Produced between 1950 and 1960, this series is characterized by its charming hand-painted, gentle aesthetic.
The rhythmic and soft rim, reminiscent of flower petals, is accentuated by a deep crimson border, creating a harmonious balance.
The lively depiction of wheat ears and flowers conveys the joy of harvest.
The deep, purplish-red color gives a calm and mature impression. Therefore, despite the large pattern, it doesn't overpower and blends beautifully.
It's a lovely plate that you'll want to display like a painting.
The stamp on the back reads "E.C.", which is likely an abbreviation for Edouard Charbonnier. Edouard Charbonnier was the son of Robert Charbonnier of the Longchamp factory and served as president of the Salins factory from 1912 to 1968.
There is fine crazing throughout. It is in very good condition with little sign of use.
