Vintage Deep Plate Saran Messidor G
This is a vintage deep dish from Sarreguemines' Messidor series.
Produced between 1950 and 1960, its charm lies in its hand-painted, gentle aesthetic.
The rim is soft and rhythmic, like flower petals, and accentuated by a deep red border, creating a tasteful tension.
Ears of wheat and flowers are vividly depicted, conveying the joy of harvest.
The deep, purplish-red color is subdued and sophisticated. Despite the large pattern, it doesn't overpower, harmonizing beautifully.
It's a lovely dish that you'll want to display like a painting.
The stamp on the back reads E.C., which is believed to be an abbreviation for Edouard Charbonnier. Edouard Charbonnier, son of Robert Charbonnier of the Longchamp factory, served as president of the Sarreguemines factory from 1912 to 1968.
Fine crazing is present throughout. It is in very good condition with no chips or cracks and minimal signs of use.
