This is a vintage deep plate from Villeroy & Boch's Neris series.
It features a somewhat rare "Made in France" backstamp, which was only used at the end of World War II. After the war, from 1947 to 1956, these pieces were made in the town of METTLACH, which was in West Germany but under French control at the time.
The design is simple and refined. When viewed with its historical background in mind, it takes on a different impression.
It's a wonderful series that makes you want to cherish it for a long time.
Condition: There is crazing and some parts of the gold trim are faded, but there are no chips or cracks, and it is in good condition.
