Vintage plate, Longchamp, Poisson Brochet (Pike)

This is from the "poisson" series by LONGCHAMP pottery.

The fish depicted here is a "Brochet" (pike).
Pike are widely found in Europe. They are large fish, growing over a meter long, and are characterized by their spotted bodies.
The elegant, unhurried swimming posture is depicted in a powerful design.

The edges of the square plate are adorned with gold gilt patterns of aquatic plants and seaweed, beautifully framing the vividly depicted fish.
Such "poisson" (fish) designs are gaining renewed attention in France and are becoming a popular series.

It would be lovely to display it on an open shelf, in the kitchen, or on your favorite wall.
