Vintage Plate - Longchamp "Poisson Gardon" (Roach)

This is from the "Poisson" series by LONGCHAMP Pottery.

The fish depicted here is a "Gardon" roach.
Roaches are commonly seen in Europe. This freshwater fish is characterized by its red fins and eyes. Its plump belly and body color are beautifully designed.

The rim of the square plate is decorated with gilt patterns of aquatic plants and seaweed, beautifully framing the vibrantly depicted fish.
This kind of "poisson" (fish) design has gained renewed attention in France and become a popular series.

It would be lovely to display it on an open shelf, in the kitchen, or on your favorite wall.
