Vintage Deep Plate - Villeroy & Boch "Fleurs des champs" A
This is a vintage deep dish from the Villeroy & Boch pottery, part of the "Fleurs des champs" series.
"Fleurs des champs" means "wildflowers" in French.
As the name suggests, a delicate bouquet of charming wildflowers such as poppies, foxgloves, daisies, and cornflowers is meticulously depicted in the center of the dish.
Similar designs for this series can also be found at the French Digoin & Sarreguemines pottery,
but Villeroy & Boch's version features a distinct sophisticated atmosphere.
Notably, it has a characteristic decagonal (10-sided) form.
Unlike typical floral rims, its clean, beautiful lines add an elegant accent to your dining table.
Furthermore, the red rim tastefully unifies the overall design and further accentuates the vibrancy of the wildflowers.
