〜My honest review of Fer à Cheval bar soap〜
This time, I tried Fer à Cheval's White Tea & Yuzu bar soap in the bath.
First off, the packaging is adorable. It's a lovely cream color, like Ladurée macarons. When I opened it, the Fer à Cheval logo was embossed, which made me a little excited!
When I smelled the soap directly, I could faintly detect the refreshing scent of yuzu. However, it wasn't very strong. The characteristic scent of natural soap was more prominent.
How about the lather? I usually use a foaming net to create a rich lather before washing my body, so I did the same this time. A small amount produced a good lather! Lather is quite important, isn't it? I also tried washing my face with it. There was no stinging or irritation, so I rinsed it off with the shower. I was surprised by my skin after rinsing. The shower water seemed to bead up on my skin! Instead of feeling slimy, my skin felt squeaky clean. I really liked this clean feeling!
After getting out of the bath, drying my body and face, and putting on clothes, I went to the living room. I apply lotion to my face right away, so I don't know what would happen if I left it, but it didn't feel tight. My body felt good too. As I rubbed my arm, I caught a gentle waft of the Fer à Cheval soap I had just used. Unlike when I smelled the soap directly, I could feel the refreshing scent more strongly than the characteristic scent of bar soap!
Does the scent become stronger after washing?
According to Fer à Cheval, the liquid type allows you to enjoy the scent more fully from the moment it lathers, compared to the bar type. It seems the scent tends to be fainter with bar soap. If you want to really experience the scent, the liquid type is recommended!
I noticed something while using Fer à Cheval bar soap: since a small amount produces a good lather, it seems to dissolve easily in water.
If shower water remains in the soap dish, it will likely disappear quickly. It's probably best to drain the water thoroughly after your bath to make it last longer.
Next time, I'd like to try the liquid soap and share my thoughts.
